There are many visions out there about what “grid of the future” could look like. Regardless of these different visions, one thing we know for sure is that the grid of the future will deal connectivity on a massive scale—whether connecting distributed generation, electric vehicles, or even refrigerators. Everything is going to be connected. And with all those connections there are definitely important questions we need to consider around interoperability.
Sharon Allan, with the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel, chats with Zpryme’s Christine Richards about the grid of the future and the role of interoperability in building increasingly advanced, and interconnected systems. Topics include interoperability’s connection with cyber security and the Internet of Things.
